AI agent

Run Cursor CLI from your iPhone or iPad

Cursor's agent doesn't need the IDE anymore — cursor-agent runs in any shell. CodeMote puts that shell on your phone.

Cursor CLI takes the agent out of the Cursor IDE and into the terminal: cursor-agentruns in any shell, on your Cursor subscription. Since CodeMote drives real terminals on your own machine, that means you can run Cursor’s agent from your phone — whether or not the IDE is open at all.

Start it in a CodeMote terminal

Pair, open a terminal in your project, and launch it:

$cursor-agent

Watch it plan and edit in the live stream, approve or redirect by thumb or voice, and let it keep working while the phone is in your pocket — the session runs on your computer.

Two ways in, same subscription

If you work in the Cursor IDE, CodeMote installs as an extension there too — see Control Cursor from your phone. The CLI route is for when you want just the agent: a repo, a shell, and your phone as the supervisor.

Either way the agent works on your real files, on your machine — this is not Cursor’s cloud background agents, and there’s no cloud copy of your code.

Questions

Do I need the Cursor IDE open to run Cursor CLI from my phone?
No. cursor-agent runs in a plain shell, so you can launch it in a CodeMote terminal with no IDE open. If you do use the Cursor IDE, the CodeMote extension installs there as well.
Is this Cursor's cloud background agent?
No. Cursor CLI through CodeMote runs on your own computer, on your real working tree. Nothing executes on a third-party server and your code is never mirrored to the cloud.
